ASHRAE Technical Committee 8.4 – Air-to-Refrigerant Heat Transfer Equipment

ACTIVITIES

TC 8.4 is concerned with air-to-refrigerant heat exchangers, their application and cost benefit relationship. It includes consideration of the needs and procedures for standardization and testing, rating and terminology applicable to air-to-refrigerant heat exchange.

The Committee sponsors Research Projects, which are a way to further knowledge in our field.

We provide valuable assistance in the writing and revision of those chapters in the Handbook for which we are responsible.

We often sponsor one or more Seminars at the Society National Meetings. This is a good opportunity to let others know what TC 8.4 is doing.

Finally, we are also involved with the writing and revision of standards.  We are responsible for ASHRAE Standards 20, 25, and 33.

The subcommittee meetings are where the action is, so don't miss them. They are a good way for TC members to become more closely involved with the activities of the committee.
